  1. Hi Jan,
    I was able to change the main menu items called about my services and training overview. I changed the my keynotes to the words computer training. I click on the button about my services and click on the button training overview I see my new link and the link works however in the address bar it shows as sandykeene.com/Keynotes and I was wondering how to change /keynotes to
    /computer training?

    I am having some trouble navigating through the tutorial because it is not showing the process. The video is just staying on the front page. Is there a way you can assist. I am trying to navigate it with your instructions but am having difficulties following along without the visual aid.

      Sorry you’re having trouble with the Navigation Menu video tutorial. It’s playing fine for me right now. Would you either try it in a different browser or on another device such as a smart phone or tablet? If you’re not able to try these other things or if it still doesn’t play for you let me know and we’ll try something else. Also do you have a good internet connection?

  3. Hi Jan!
    I was able to remove the items that needed to be removed, (DI and Keynotes)but when I click on About My Services, Differentiated Instruction Program and My Keynotes appears directly on that page in blue and are clickable. How do I remove them for right now? The also show up on training menu and testimonials.

    • Diane, Excellent Question! Here’s what you do to About My Services page…do the same to the other pages.

      1. While you are logged in, go to the frontend of your site and click on About My Services.
      2. On the toolbar you will see EDIT PAGE…click on it.
      3. Scroll down until you see the module called Text Module-Links to Your Services and click on the 3 black lines to open the module.
      4. Scroll down until you see My Keynotes…highlight the words…and then delete them.
      5. Click Save to save the module.
      6. Click Update to make the change permanent to the page.
      7. Go up to the toolbar and click View Page to see your changes.

    Many thanks.
    Under the “About my Services” Tab, I removed ‘my Keynotes’ section, but it is still showing with your note on options to use in this area –“Promote whatever you do on this site!” Is that what persons visiting the website now will see? If so, how can I retain that space but leave it blank until I am ready to place something under it.

    • Dr. Edwards, it seems you have removed MY KEYNOTES from the Navigation Bar. If I understand you correctly, that’s what you want for now. If you want to use the MY KEYNOTES page later you can go to the backend of your site and click on Pages. Find the MY KEYNOTES page and click EDIT. You can enter your content. Also, you may want to change the page name and the Permalink as shown in this picture:

      You could also start a new page from scratch if you didn’t want to use the MY KEYNOTES page.

      • My issue is similar to Dr. Edwards. However, I already removed the header My Keynotes (under about my services). When I followed your directions to click on the page to add my content, there is not a header that says My Keynotes. So, how to I get rid of the stuff that is there(promote whatever you want on this….).

        • Judy, if I understand you correctly you want to use the My Keynotes page for something else and want to get rid of the content that’s on that page and replace with yours? Is that correct? Or do you want to do away with the My Keynotes page and remove it from the menu bar?

  5. Something happened to my Join Our Mailing List page where the form on the right is gone. It was there bcs I was able to download the item after filling out the form but now it’s gone. Please help.

  6. Hi, Jan~ I need to change my Training Overview page because I only have Differentiated Instruction at the moment. Which tutorial do I view to delete CM info and reorganize the page so that it doesn’t have “holes” in it?

    • Maryann, here is my suggestion…Copy the content that’s on the DI Overview page and paste it into the Training Overview page, replacing what’s on the Training Overview page now. If someone clicks on the Training Overview page they will see links to all the DI Overview pages.

      Remove the Classroom Management Overview page from the main menu. The tutorial on this page shows how to remove a page from the menu. You won’t delete any Classroom Management Pages from your site (you may want them later), but visitors won’t see them because they are no longer on the main nav bar.

      On the main menu you will see Training Overview, with a dropdown of Differentiated Instruction Overview > All DI Content Pages.

      Let me know if this isn’t what you had in mind.

      • Thanks, Jan. I was able to figure out how to do the changes, but when I tried to move the blurbs around on the Home page, they went all out of alignment. How do I get them back in line?

          Watch the Revised content at the beginning and then scrub to 2:50 minutes and watch the Revised Content there. Let me know if you get them aligned okay.

  7. This question has been asked and I wanted to answer it here on this tutorial page.

    Question:
    I created a new page that I want to place in the 3rd position under “About My Services.”

    How would I get it in that position?

    Answer:
    Look at the tutorial on this page:http://ctewebsite.com/blog/navigation-menus/
    Scrub through the video to the 2:00 minute mark and it will show you how to add a page to the menu.
    Then go to the 3:48 minute mark and it will show you how to position it under Differentiated Instruction Program. You move the page up to the position under DI Program and indent it the same amount as DI Program.

    Let me know if you need more help.

  8. Hi Jan,

    This is so exciting! I am learning so many new things!

    I changed the information under Keynote to Educational Consultant. However, when view the page on my website, the word Keynote slides in from the left. How do I change it to Educational Consultant?

    Also, can we add pictures to this page? If so, what is the procedure?

      Page Banners come in from the left…they are graphics. I would need to make them for you. Here’s what I’ve been telling those who ask:
      I can make extra page banners for those who want more. There will be a small fee for making them, to compensate me for my time.
      1-5 banners will be $25. Each additional banner will be $5 each. So…7 banners would be $35.

      I would like for you to think through the banners you want for your site and send them to me at one time. I will invoice you from my PayPal account and when you pay I will send you the page banners.
